Cobalt

Cobalt is a metallic element having an appearance similar to silver. It is generally recovered as a by-product metal in the extraction of nickel or copper.

Historically, cobalt has been used in the manufacture of blue and green pigments. Cobalt is also used in alloys to impart greater hardness and corrosion resistance.  Petrochemical applications include refinery catalysts, Fisher Tropsch catalysts, and oxidation catalysts. Cobalt is a key component in radial tyre manufacture in the form of carboxylate compounds which enhance the bonding between the rubber and the brass coated steel cord. Cathode materials represent a sizeable and fast-growing segment of cobalt.

ICoNiChem has been manufacturing inorganic Cobalt salts for more than 40 years, and our knowledge of this metal chemistry, coupled with our commercial supply arrangements, results in us being one of the leading companies in the manufacture of inorganic cobalt compounds.
